I should be receiving the engine in the next few days. I will try my best to stay active and give info updates as others have about these engines. Looking forward to having a Signature CV8 in the truck.

 

Painting the block will not substantially affect the heat transfer rate in the negative unless it is thick enough to act as insulation. Actually if you painted you block flat black, it would radiate heat better than shiny metal (which is the worst for radiating heat).

None of this really matters, because almost all of the heat is removed via the radiator.

 

polish, chrome or paint anything aluminum and it is going to hold in more heat, jmho

I guess, what i read in the first paragraph was black is the least desirable color to paint an engine.

 

It looks like black is out and white is the best color. That would be an interesting look. Great article BTW.
