Best wiper blades I ever bought were by PIAA. Things lasted forever until some ******** stole em!!!! Came out from shopping and my wiper blades were gone. At first I thought ok what buddy of mine is pulling my leg, but nope someone just stole them unfortunately.

That's exactly how mine looks. But the linkage at that point is not the problem -- if it was, both arms would be in the wrong positions. The passenger side one is fine, and both are fine when I use the D2 arms. It's only the D1 arm on the driver's side that doesn't line up properly.
I've had some vehicles where there were adjustment nuts on the arms, but not on the Rover.

Wow, thanks for all the comments.

Wipers sure are a hot topic.

Spring in the new D1s seems as tight or tighter than the D2s I removed, but too bad I couldn't test the D1 arms yet as the wiper system is now on the fritz as well.

Now if some of you guys would now just shift over to my other thread about the wipers not working at all and continue with all of your collective insight, it would be most appreciated (looking for an elusive youtube video on how to recondition the wiper control stalk) . . .

And the alternator has gone as well.

Hoping this thing holds together long enough for me to drag 5 dirt bikes and a trailer to Maob in May and then be our support wagon for fuel, camping stuff, etc.).

BTW, while looking for some replacement A pillar trim pieces at a junkyard I hadn't been to before, I stumbled upon the holy grail of unobtanium parts: OEM roof rail extensions for 99-03, so I bought them. As a bonus, there were OEM(?) aero cross-racks on the same donor that I also picked up (I am calling them OEM because they are non-adjustable and appear to be purpose-built for the width between and circumference/odd shape of OEM 99-03 rails). After searching for years, I bought some of these rail extenders from a guy in England (my D2 is an '04 with the useless fat rails, and the 99-03 front rails are an easy and cheap commodity to find), and am going to post them in the classifieds here for the same price I paid for mine from the English guy. Not sure what to do about the cross-racks yet, whether to keep or sell them as well to help cover the junkyard possible wiper control stalk, alternator and A-pillar trim I still need. BTW, even more unobtanium than the rail extensions themselves is the rail extension drill guide needed to put the holes in your roof in the right place (you drill from the inside out). I made some myself based on the dimensions I found on the web somewhere, using standard bushings and fender washers from Lowe's and the guide worked perfect. I posted how to make those drill guide a while back on this forum.

You heard about these extension first here :-)
