D2 diesel swap
When I read the first post and saw "did I mention I have a hummer" I was expecting an H1 with cracked fiberglas from being wheeled so hard. Turns out to be an H3 which should not be referenced to only as a Hummer.
This guy must be overly sensitive. I have never seen someone get so hurt over a veterans simple advice before. I picture him as the guy that knows everything and will not finish this project due to stubbornness. (although he did order the OEM engine/tranny so it could be a go.)

Unexpected turn. I've never heard about the Canadian emissions approach before. That would make the whole process much easier. Does that mean Defenders can be brought in? Has everyone missed this?
Vehicle import isn't just about emissions. For complete vehicles the 25 year rule applies.
Canada's age requirement is 15 years.
There'd be a lot of '99 and older non-NAS Defenders here if the 25 year rule didn't apply.
