Afternoon all, have got a problem with my 01’ discovery 2 (td5 2.5 auto). Had trouble with it shifting through the upper gears over revving and not shifting properly when someone suggested it might be low transmission oil. So I’ve managed to get 4 litres put into it, driving it home, this seemed to have solved this issue. It was reversing fine however after driving it 10 mins back to home from the yard it will not reverse just feels like revving it in neutral? ‘R’ symbol is coming up on the dash and red light is coming up on the gear selector, reversing lights also come on. Any suggestions or solutions? Thanks

 

Have you checked the level again since adding the 4L? When adding the fluid did you have the truck running? Make sure to follow the correct procedure when adding/checking fluid. If unsure, then search because this has been covered. Being low 4L is substantial. How long did you drive like this?
