2000 disco 2 ,,1270 miles , no codes ,,,changed atf truck only go in reverse will not drive

 

Did you get the fluid properly topped off?

 

4HP22s are very hardy transmissions.. the only way this could happen after JUST a oil change is if you forgot to fill it, tried driving it, and filled it. Being that it doesn't move.. Clutch B failure and your pump is soon to follow, rendering the vehicle immobile.


but, what is the full story?

 

Did you also change the transmission filter? If so, sometimes transmissions take multiple drains+refills before they are good to go again.

 

yesdid everything by the book

 

i did not repeat the atf refill. A lil info on the truck,,,2000 disco 2,,1270 miles.

 

full story,,,2000 disco 2, 1270 miles, tyranny was slipping, then stop moving in drive, or reverse. Change atf and filter. Topped off,will only go in reverse. Lights indicate truck in d, rpm goes up a hair when put in drive. Reverse work

 

What was the problem?

 

Probably front clutch gone out, it happens on HP22's
