Default Disco problem:Can't remove key

Just purchased a 98 Disco from an auction. It starts and drives nice, but I can't remove the key from the starter switch unless I disconnect the battery???

A mechanic ran a scanner and the only code that came up was P1193.

Has anyone else had this issue or have suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Pop the trim piece off of the gear shift ****, tighten the nut until the key come out.
Should only take a couple of turns on the nut.

And since you just bought the truck here is some light reading for you.

What are the heat riser pipes on my 4.6L? They're all running off exhaust, to a pump and diaphragm. The diaphragm's are controlled by vacuum.

The entire system has been a source of problems since I bought the truck. A trusted mechanic told me it was an EGR system.

Thanks Spike! Tried it and it worked.

What do you know about running board, license, and fog lights. Neither of them work. Already checked fuses and replaced bulbs. Do I have to buy an entire unit for the front fog lights or can I replace bulbs only? All other lights work.

98 Disco

Thanks in advance.
