Default Doing my nut in

Hi all, Maybe someone can help me with a problem thats been bugging me for a while, I've a D2 on a 1999 plate which has had a conversion from bags to coil springs it's also been lifted but on the front end the drivers side seems to have dropped by a good few centimetres. Any ideas what would cause this. Thanks in advance. 😁

Broken spring?

See if you can get a look at both ends of both front springs. Check everything matches.

I ha a van that had a broken spring. Listed to one side. One spring had lost the very tip.

Does it have spacers? One popped out.

There's some probability that a two inch lift would have been springs only. I assume you bought it after the air to coil conversion and with the two inch lift. I have a two inch lift and air to coil conversion. I bought mine after the conversion, but did the lift myself using the OME heavy duty springs. I also installed a winch bumper and winch. The distribution of weight and how you load it for trips can cause the springs to wear unevenly. There are a lot of DIIs that list to one side a little bit. It all depends on how severe it is. Park on level ground, be sure to have tire inflation the same on both sides, and measure from the fender to the ground on both sides. Post up your measurements.

Spacers would be under the spring perch (where bottom of spring rests). If it had spacers they can break and fall out, but that would leave the bolts too long and, and a minimum, they would be sticking up in the middle of the spring. I'd call that situation dangerous.

More likely it had +2 springs and there is something wrong with that spring, a suggested above, or maybe the plastic bit at the top of the spring. Just compare side to side. If your springs are shot I'd replace all 4 from Lucky8.

My rover sat in the garage for five years and when I rolled it out one spring was a good two inches below the others. They can just wear out.

And um, what's with the title of your thread??? Hahaha

Springs lose their 'springyness' after awhile and many don't deteriorate equally. Some springs are also 'biased' at the front of D2's, i.e. one spring is slightly longer than the other. Also check the shockers are a matched pair as their fully open length MUST be identical.

Thanks for the reply, I think the general concenus is that I've either got a worn out spring or a knackered shock. As for the thread title it is quiet literally doing my nut in (head) 😋
