I am looking for a solution and someone told me to look at replacing the fuse box on my 2002 HSE. Bought the car used two months ago. There have been no major issues but there seems to be a problem with the fuses. The previous owner has jumped a few fuses with wires; the windows periodically stop working; the stereo will stop working; the air will stop working; etc. When my shade tree machanic (actually a seasoned professional but I get him after work armed with a six pack) looks at it he says that the wires are difinitely a problem. His solution for a permanent fix is to replace the fuse box.
Have you had further problems after switching the fuse box? Was the switch difficult?

The switch is extremely easy, just one nut holding it in place. Rove used all different connectors on the back so you can't mix them up. I'd contact rover bones or one of the reputable people that sell used parts for a replacement. Shouldn't be much for it.
Also after switching the fuse box the rover couldn't start and somehow the interia switch under the hood was the culprit.
Best of luck.
