Well Ill try this out and see how it works out.... here is some pics after about 3 min warmup sitting at 156degF and another at fully warmed up 20 min drive... both at idle... no a/C running... ironically the temp is higher that normal.. Im sitting on a bridge overpass waiting for the stupid bridge to go down so I can go onto the island... anyway im on about a 20deg incline .... since switching to the lower temp factory thermostat ony rarely do I goto 199... Im usually at 194 and on highway 190 F

I know a lot of people hate shopping at walmart but they have the rotella 15w40 gallon jugs for $13 or something like that.
It sure beats the crap out of the $18 I paid for the same thing at advanced auto.

In light of my resent issues, I went on a search for oil filters to see what the majority uses. Should've stopped at page one instead of reading pretty much the whole thread. Dead set on the oil, no brainer. gonna reread I guess and try to make a decision on the filter. Anyone in Florida that reads this, or any hot a$$ state for that matter, what are y'all using?

I'm 120 miles north of Florida, hot, and run that big MANN / Purolator filter.

I run the M1 stock size filter here in sweltering hot Arkansas.

I don't like the bypass valve pressure differences between the Mann and the stock spec filter. Makes me uncomfortable.
