Ooooh, Can you tell if the fitting broke off clean? I will look later but I thought that was a pressed fitting. If it is you might not be in too bad shape, but sounds like you may be pulling the plenum... Mike?

The fitting pulled out, completely from the aluminum, it didn't break. And thank god somebody is finally on topic about helping me fix this problem. Is my fitting bad, or some other problem?

I GOT IT!!! NO ARMOR ALL!!! let's all get over it.

Almost forgot, the rubber hose has a regular screw type hoseclamp at this fitting only, theother clamp on this hoseisdifferent ( oemi assume).

Which line is it? There are two on the drivers sideand one valve cover to plenum on the right. If it is either on the drivers side, I would be surprised if they could be replaced without the plenum off. Now that you pointed it out, mine look fairly corroded as well, and I am scared to pull them off again!!

I am sure Disco Mike has seen this before, or OKDiscoguy may have an idea....

Mine is a 96, 4.0 gasser, and not sure about your 95 but think it is the same. I found a guy in town that has T4 and 25 yrs of playing with nothing but Rovers and British stuff. Will see if he has any ideas.

I think your motor is different, mine's the DII bosch 4.0. The hose that came off is on the "back" of the intake plenum facing the firewall. Looking at the motor from the front it's directly in the center in line with the crank.

Are you talking about the one inch hose that hooks into the air intake hose then goes around the back side of the t/body and reattaches there, does it have a metal cylinder attached to it, is so, that is your idle control unit.

Sorry, thought for some reason you had a 95. I agree, your intake is much different than mine. Sounds like an inconvienent place to tinker. Will the truck run, and if so what is it doing?

EXACTLY!! this hose, where it connects to the rear of the intake. The fitting that fits into the aluminum for the hose to clamp onto came out of the aluminum intake. Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks Mike

Yeah, the truck runs like normal. Once I put the hose back in it's place the vaccum keeps it in place. But the hose is VERY easy to pull out when the truck's not running.

Without seeing it, it's hard to tell, but it may just have been an interference fit in the factory? Maybe you can carefully squeeze the tube the slides into the aluminum with a pair of pliers, making it slightly oval, then it would interference fit back in the hole. Or carefully epoxy or chemical metal it in place? Let it set over night so you don't suck it into your engine. I'd still be weary that it would break up and get sucked into the motor when it's hard anyway. That's why I'd do the squeeze it with pliers thing.
