My '00 Disco 2 driver's side door check strap bracket that is a welded part of the door frame has broken loose. (See picture). I've had it repaired once by an excellent body shop, door removed, welded and repainted, but alas, it has broken again. I've removed the roll pin and currently use my left foot to catch the door to keep it from opening too far.

Does anyone have a "fix", maybe an ingenious workaround or bolt on replacement? Truck has 287K and still going great, so I'd like to see what I can do to fix w/o going back to the body shop for another somewhat expensive repair.
