Default flashing tranny lights

Okay, I just finished a nice 60 mile drive with no problems. I pulled into the hotel parking lot, turned off the motor and ran in to register. Now when I try to start the motor, it won't engage, and the S & M lights are flashing. The book says this is an electrical fault. Any ideas?

Check your battery cable conection, clean and tighten them, this will usually fix the problem. Have you tried putting it into reverse, many times you will have revers and no drive with this problem.

Thanks, Mike. It finally started after a jump and letting it cough and spit for a bit it started going again. I took it down to get tested, and the battery is only putting out 140 CA (of 800). I'll have to take it back tomorrow to get it fully tested, but it looks like a bad bat. Definitely better than a transmission issue, which is what the book said.

Okay, got it ALL taken care of. My Crackberry lost it's data connection so I couldn't check in. I took it into Les Schwab, and they cleaned and tightened the batter cables (of course I didn't have any of my tools with me . . .[&o])

That fixed the whole thing, and it's running like a dream.
