On some sections of UT highway the speed limit was 80 mph. I would be a traffic hazard at 60 - but I do get what you're saying. Disco has the aerodynamics of a barn.

Anyone ever try the Splitfire plugs in their Disco? I've just acquired a HSE7 this week that needs a good bit of work. I've been reading about them online, and it seems the reviews are one extreme or the other--either "yank them out and throw them away now" or "I love them and am getting better mileage than ever".

Nope, i have not tried them. I have autolite double platinum's in mine right now. Let us know how they work. If they give you better mpg please let us know, i'm sure that we could all use an extra mpg on our Rover's.

Driving to the lake I get low 20's on non-ethanol premium. I have full synthetic in everything from the wheel bearings to antifreeze. I am pushing 189K, so I guess everything is so worn out there is no resistance left...
