Its not you Ant, there have been lots of people sweating over their engine temps for years on here and i have never understood, still dont.
These guys want their trucks to run at like -150*F and not a tick more, for some reason they think Rovers run hot, not true, they run normal temps.
The U-G is fun though, I also do not scroll pages because it is to distracting.

Default Engine temps

My 04 is reading 206 to 224 here lateley. I have new T stat and radiator. One thing i did notice was that i could turn the main fan by hand more than one revolution. I had read that it should feel or taste like pnut butter and that it should turn a whole revolution.

I wonder if my fan is going bad?

It tasted like plastic chicken!

Seriously though, from the numbers im seeing in here mine it running too hot. Runs fine and never seen it go over 225 but it's always in the 200's.

Sounds like your clutch fan is not working, unfortunately on a 04 you need to replace the fan and clutch as one unit or convert to a pre-03 clutch and fan.
