I started to replace mine today. I spent a good two hours trying to attach the wire to the harness. I gave up in frustration (and it got dark). None of the videos online seem to cover this part of it. I can't fit my Popeye arms up there to reattach them... Is it supposed to go in that little clip after you attach the two ends?

...I know your pain ...someone ended up cutting a window by the wheel well to easily access it, I'll look for the link since it was a pretty good hack.

Don't worry about clipping the harness in to the bracket. Just connect the new sensor to the harness then bolt it to the engine.

Thanks, yep, I found that. I think I may have to go that route. I tried 11" bent needle noses and attacking it from above and below.

If I just had two more inches... story of my life.

Mine wasn't bad, was just going on a road trip and didn't want to rely on a 9 year old part known to fail. Kept the old one as back-up.
Hi, curious how did you unplug it? Coming from the top or from the bottom. The wiring is so short I can't get my hands in there to disonnect. the bracket is in the way coming from the bottom.

I did it from the top, and I also used the 24" version of this:
Amazon Amazon

Which, coincidentally, is also how I broke the clip

16" long needle nose pliers 16" long needle nose pliers
. This is like surgery. I don't know how anyone does this replacement out on the trails.

Just be careful. Like I said, I broke mine. This clip from the harness that you need to plug the sensor into is why my disco is at the mechanic's and will cost me $800 on Monday.

What tools should be bought ahead of time to make this job do-able on the trail? Sounds like long needle nose pliers? Bent? Straight? Length? One pair? Two pairs?
