Default How do I release the oil cooler lines?

I'm in the process of swapping radiators and the workshop manual says "Push against coupling release rings and disconnect hoses from gearbox oil cooler". Where exactly is the ring? I see a plastic ring near the end, is that it? Which way do I push it? Pull it back toward the engine, or push it forward toward the radiator? I have tried both and can't seem to get them to come free, and getting two hands in there is impossible. Any pointers are appreciated and Happy Thanksgiving! I'd like to have this done by turkey time!

Pull the entire line and coupler towards the cooler, then push in the plastic at the end(towards the coupler away from the cooler). Now twist the line while pulling it off of the cooler. Its a pain, but the twisting motion helps.

I did the radiator swap last year.

I did not remove the oil cooler coupling and simply slid the radiator out from the oil cooler lines. Here is my post:

Good luck!

I did exactly what acg did. I could not get the lines off so I wiggled the radiator out without disconnecting them.

That thought crossed my mind but my son-in-law has strong hands fortunately and he was able to get them off. Back on was a snap (pun intended). From that point on it went pretty much according to plan. I had already done the thermostat.

I did it without removing the fan. The first step in the RAVE is to remove the fan. I don't see the need. I had plenty of working room with it there.
