Aren’t we supposed to get rid of the oil separator when we do the PCV mod?

Exactly. I removed mine per PCV MOD. Developed a surging idle, reinstall oil separator valve and the surging idle had not come back.

Frank4, in your post #6 in this thread you wrote what I have quoted above.

The PCV mod requires a PCV valve to be installed at the upper intake manifold, not just a "brass fitting".

What did you install there?

Ah ha. That’s where I went wrong. I used an NPT valve! Straight through I guess?

Yeah, I used the brass plumbing fitting for 10 years after I broke the original plastic fitting and before I did the PCV mod 4½ years ago.

The one I used was for my air compressor.
