I have not worked on a rover with the Harmon Kardon systems yet but I know they were offered in some vehicles (I am not sure which ones but I think its only Range Rovers) so I can't say for sure about those systems but I am almost positive that most people on these forums have either the Pioneer factory system or the Alpine factory systems
I've been interested in putting a mp3 interface onto the CD player, so as to keep the steering wheel controls. Anyone here have one working on a 2000 DII , like me and the original poster have?

The dash kit just hides the gap between your new deck and the factory opening to make it look like it was made just for your Disco. The wiring harness adapts the new deck to the factory wiring. Crutchfield includes them when you buy a deck from them. You should call Crutchfield and talk to a rep and they can help you based on your ability. www.crutchfield.com
