That guy is a Bozo.
All he wants is your money.
Just have the O2 sensors replaced.
That is all you need.

This is what you do:

1) Orange check engine light is on. You go "Oh no..." You let the utter shock of this event wear off by promptly pounding down a beer or two.

2) You plug a code scanner into your OBDII port with the key turned on.

3) You go through the codes one by one and take a picture of the screen of the code scanner with your cell phone.

4) you post the codes on here so we can help you.

5) you drink one more beer as you may need to.

Ok have codes and messages:

P0159 lambda sensor aging downstream bank 2

P0174/P0175 additive adaptive mixture correction tra bank 2

P0174/P0175 mixture adaption factor fra bank 2

P0150/P0152 lambda sensor upstream catalyst bank 2

Other obvious signs - a pretty strong gas odor while idling, running rich. Also a very black and thick ring of soot around the tailpipe edge.

This can't just be bad O2 sensors??

Gotta chime in...

With the support of the people on this forums you can accomplish 90% of the work and save yourself some $ and head aches.

1. Buy O2 sensors, replace them all... Get it out of way...

2. Replace air filter

3. Put a full tank of premium in, add half a can of Seafoam to the fuel system.

4. MAF (Master Air Flow) sensor... Buy the aerosol MAF cleaner, YouTube it... Takes 5-10 minutes to do and another 30 minutes to dry

5. Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) needs to be popped out and cleaned. Super easy, about another 10-15 minutes... YouTube and people here are your friends.

6. Check coolant hoses for leaks above valve cover on engine... Replace the clamps with fuel injection clamps.

7. PCV valve, make sure it and the little hose aren't clogged...

.... DO NOT put engine/radiator sealant crap in ... It could work for a day or two (friend experienced in his Disco) or a week or a month... It'll also clog up your radiator and cause more issues in the long run... And the best is a brand in a yellow tube that has pellets that liquify and harden once deposited in and circulated. It costs about $10 Canadian (so about $4 US in the states) and takes about 10 minutes to do... IMO, not worth it... A bad head gasket requires propper repair

Do all the mentioned work above, and if it is still having issues, especially over heating... Probably time for a head gasket replacement by a QUALIFIED mechanic YOU TRUST.. Ask on here for local recommendations...

Lastly...

Have plenty of beer on hand for afterwards

Just my $0.02

Two things. First, MAF stands for Mass Air Flow, not master. Second, this is a very old thread and there is virtually no way that the owner is still trying to fix the issue.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for catching the Mass/Master error.

DYAC! (Damn You Auto Correct!)

Missed the age of the thread.

Cheers
