Hi, Very true in the perfect world in theory but when braking and cornering hard the wheel flexes a tiny amount and distorts in doing so flattens the plastic rings. Multiple removal and re-fixing of the wheels does the most damage admittedly. If you look at a slomo of wheels in action they deflect anything from zero to 0.030" under hard cornering. Unfortunately the lower the profile of the tyres, the more the wheels flex under load. That is often why tire walls give up earlier when under inflated. My race car ran often on slick tires and ran between 10 to 15 psi depending on certain factors, the track and corners, track temperature, weather etc, unfortunately the tires didn't last too long, maybe one race in some instances.

Factory lug nut flange confusion? If you slapped your nuts on the table it might help.

They don't have flat flanges. The flanges are not functional using the stock wheels.

LOL. L322a wheels on a D2 here. With plastic rings and the L322a lugs. Works fine. get a vibration between 60-70 but that's about it.

The flat flange isn't functional using stock wheels? It's all that holds the wheel on.

Stick wheels anything like the old wooden wagon wheels?

Should have said not a flat (ended) nut. Referring to the tapered end of the nut as not being functional for centering. If somebody hasn't played with nuts enough they might mistake the LR nuts for being tapered flange nuts and lead to confusion.

Ah, ok. I thought you meant that the flange didn't have a function. You're correct; we're on the same page now.
