Locking issues
I bought my first LR, A 99' DiscoII and it has (among other issues) locking issues.
The auto lock/unlock on the dash only controls the rear door. The other doors sound asthough they wan't to unlock but they dont. The same with the fob. The key doesn't control the locks either, infact the key won't even turn the cylinder in the door handle. I got a new actuator for the driver side door, and I still have the same issue. I checked the fuses (13 under the hood and 1 and 20 in the pass compartment) and all checked out to be fine. The inertia switch didn't seem asthough it need to be reset. Is it possiable that the BCU could be partly bad or can it just be reset?Anything will help.

Actually your diagnosis is pretty on point. One door works. others sound like trying to work, but don't. Key does not do anything. I suspect that your alarm system is not arming/disarming either.
While BCU could be bad, let us save that for a while. Driver door key has to work to make things happen. Actuators are really small electric motors that lock/unlock by power being applied to them and then reversed for next instruction. There is a second motor with each called "superlock", which when activated, disables internal door handles. Fix driver door lock first. See attached pages from RAVE. Also, with superlock it is easy to lock yourself out of truck if it fails while testing, do this sort of test work with windows down.

A little update to my locking issues. I bit the bullet and took the Disco to the dealer to try to remody my issue. He repinned the door handle so it opens with a different key than the ignition key, and eveything else is the same. I basically have manual locks. The dash and the fob only opens/locks the rear door. All other doors sound like they want to work but dont. He had no answers or just no time. Dosen't seem asthough I'm superlocked. Still scratching my head.
