Looks like a 2004 G4 you're looking at?

Did you check the oil fill cap for any signs of a head gasket leak? How's the coolant level?

Can you get a better video of the truck after it's warmed up? Preferably pointed into the engine compartment or closer to the engine? It sounds like a slipped liner to me based on what I've heard them sound like before but I could be wrong.

If it’s a slipper liner, then it’s an expensive repair?

I think this car is total dud. The chassis has structural rot. So double whammy.

If it has rot/rust on the frame run away as fast as possible. unless it's a CDL model or has a super clean body/interior and you're getting it for parts rig pricing.

Slipped liner probably isn't cheap if you're not doing it yourself.

How bad is the rot? Any pics?

I bought a truck with a ton of rust underneath. I had it sandblasted and it wasn't as bad as I thought. It's not a perfect frame but I re-coated it and it's good now.

From Pittsburgh that's a summer project. From the south east thats parked in the field and used for spare parts.

I likely know someone with an 03 frame you could get for a decent price.

Nonzero but very low. The lifters only tick when oil pressure is low, usually due to either a cracked oil pump or walked cam bearing.

The engine sounded exactly like this video. More audible ticking at the end.

this guy says he thinks it was the lifters.
