I can see from the carfax that the previous owner serviced the truck at one dealer religiously.

I can see that the front propshaft is black ( no zerk fittings ) where the rear is rusty. So I'd like to know when it was replaced and of course, if it's had head gaskets or a water pump done in its 113k mile lifetime.

 

Go to the dealership where the truck has been serviced for most of it's lifetime (or the closest dealership if the original is not within a reasonable distance).

Pull your truck up as close the front showroom doors as possible. Tell the first salesman you see that you are interested in the Evoque for your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/pending mail-order bride.

Take one for a test drive for S***'s and giggles. Tell the salesman you are very interested. Then say to the salesman : "While I'm here, could we pull the service records for my G4?"

I betcha you'll walk out with a big stack papers detailing the history of your truck

 

I know that would get the job done, but being in sales myself, I hate to abuse some salesman for my own benefit. I was hoping someone from a dealer might be on the forum and would do me a solid.

 

A lot of dealers don't have a "network" for service records, only recalls. You'd probably need someone who works at the actual dealership that did the work.

Any idea how to read the service codes?

 

I'll bet those are warranty claims or other items paid for by LRNA instead of the dealership. Which is why there are items that happened before the vehicle was sold.

 

Those are not warrantee codes those are warrantee services and recalls done.
all the services were performed including the 30k along with some recalls.

The service records of warrantee that a customer complains about is on a different screen.
But with 100k then its possible it had a LR certified and not sure who has access to records. It might be on the warrantee company. I have never seen anything from them.

 

I tried to get the service records for my 04 before i bought it in chicago and was told it was prohibited under the privacy act.
