also if I’m correct you did 100 instead of 80, no big deal. That 20 pounds won’t kill it
just figured it would be a big deal. Read other threads that guys had to replace ball joints within a year due to incorrect values and installation. Don’t want that to happen so I just gotta man up and redo em

Another thing I did as suggested from another thread was to put non seizing grease in the seats of the ball joints. Bad idea = squeeking?

Just didn’t want to go trough the nightmare of trying to break them loose again next time I didn’t he job.

if they are in there tight, the grease would have no effect.

No, that is a good idea. Anti-seize will make it easier to disassemble. Once those ball-joints are pressed into place, there should be no movement of ball-joint housing. They did press in tightly, right?

Brian.

oh heck yeah they did. I’m jut a little on edge now becasue the more I reseat/press them in the wider the boring will be in the knuckles. RAVE states they’re only good for three uses. I will know right away when I redo them but may have to swap the knuckles off my parts rover too which means disassembling and pressing out those old joints... it’s never ending

Best case scenario would be...a couple round trip tickets to Hawaii for a couple members here to help you out.

Miraculously enough the joints stopped squeeking and causing resistance! Gave it a few days as suggested. Still going to swap the tops out but thought everyone should know who may also be nervous about tight ball joints. I’ve got RN steering rods coming in today and alignment/ ballance soon after that. Front end is looking up!

I didn't catch that stiffness was also an issue, usually takes a few days to loosen up. as you have observed!
