PH16 = 99-04 D2 OEM LR size filter from the factory, and yes PH16 does fit I6 4.0L Jeep's as well.

thats kind of what i thought. One of these days ill eventually learn to stop second guessing myself and assuming other people know what they are doing. Ph16 size i thought was pretty common filter so no idea why they wouldnt have them available.

If you want a bit of extra capacity and (usually) easy to find filters you can grab the Wix 51515 at O'Reilley or 51515 at Napa.
