Default No start then start?

2004 DII 126K

Had O2 sensor on bank 2 position 1 go bad back in March and again this week, ordered new one and replaced and all was good on test drive via Ultragauge. Turned off for about 20 min and when I went to restart I got nada, just spinning, no spark and could not hear fuel pump. finally after about 45 it fired off but was rough and "clackety" at first then smoothed out and idled perfect, then maybe 10 min of idling it stumbled and the Ultragauge showed error on all gauges, reset and fine with no codes?
My question is would this be a sign of CPS going bad or maybe fuel pump? Stumped on the stumble?

Well I'll bump my own thread;

So I determined the crank position sensor is going bad so ordered new one and did my studies on procedure for replacement but for crying out loud how does the stupid plug come unconnected? If I could get more than two fingers up to it I could probably get the how it connects? I have seen vids of people accessing from top but again these people must have kid fingers and arms because I sure as hell cannot get to it from the top!

From the looks of new plug I'm thinking the tab needs to pulled and not pushed? Also looking like I will need to disconnect Y-pipe from both sides to maybe get more room? Hell if I know? Anybody with experience with this engineering placement failure can add some help?

It became beer-thirty so work was discontinued until tomorrow AM, HA!

This is NOT a fun job. You have to come at it from the underside unless you have the exhaust manifold off. Getting the connection off the tab requires getting a really long screwdriver between the backside of the connector and the tab. Something with a point to push in between works well. Disconnecting the Y pipe will help. Do not forget to put a new gasket in before you connect the Y pipe to the manifold.

thanks Matt3502!

Well finally got the CPK installed and only broke 1 exhaust stud! ugh
I am just going to say this job was the most frustrating cuss word inducing job I have ever encountered on really any engine I own and work on! Normally going out in the garage and turning wrenches on the LR is therapeutic to me but this job was the absolute worst, I watched the vids and read every post I could find but this was just crap! I dropped the Y-pipe and still barely gave me any room to reach that stupid plug much less install the new CPK and cover! I guess I have short fat fingers and arms because reaching anything with this part was like moving my arm up and down 80 grit sandpaper!
If this part goes out again I will either pull the top and driver side or shoot the damn thing! lol!
Sorry rant over!
Rover on people!

This forum is the place to rant, rather than at your dog, spouse or in the presence of small children eager to learn new words from dad. Glad you got it sorted out.
