I am elated to have fixed an ongoing issue for the past couple of months. This myriad of codes popped up a few months ago when I was offroading with our Rover-Landers group.
It puzzled me for some time as I was not familiar with, and had to learn the intricacies of the SAI system. Info in the forums provided some insight into some of the individual error codes, but not the following combination below.
I originally went down the wrong path thinking it was related to one of the SAI components shorting out and testing each individual one. It turned out to a burnt O2 wire (one of the four small wires) in the harness C0645. Specifically, the wire to pin #3 ("NK" color code or Brown-Pink).
Therefore, I thought it may be a good idea to share the info here for future reference:
P0102 Mass or volume air flow circuit low input
P0134 Heated oxygen sensor circuit no activity detected - bank 1 upstream
P0135 O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 1)
P0139 Heated oxygen sensor circuit slow response - bank 1, sensor 2
P0141 O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 2)
P0154 Heated oxygen sensor circuit no activity detected - bank 2 upstream
P0155 O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank 2 sensor 1)
P0154 Heated oxygen sensor circuit no activity detected - bank 2 upstream
P0159 Heated oxygen sensor circuit slow response bank 2 sensor 2
P0161 O2 sensor circuit no activity detected (bank 2 sensor 2)
P0340 Camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction
P0414 Secondary air injection switching valve short circuit
P0445 Evaporative emission control system control valve circuit shorted
P0448 Evaporative emission control system vent control circuit shorted
P1451 Evaporative emission control system vent control valve circuit malfunction
P1482 Evaporative emission system leak heater control - circuit low
P1884 (5d) Evaporative Control System Fault
The wire was burnt from being too close to the exhaust manifold. Plus, it was missing the harness protector sleeve. The transmission oil tube was also in the way. Plus, the O2 connector was not clipped in properly, which allowed the entire harness to move towards the exhaust manifold. The incorrect routing was an oversight when we put in a new transfer case last year
The wire has now been patched up and re-routed away from the exhaust manifold. Amazing that this small wire caused all these codes to pop up. The affected wire sends a signal to the ECU. When there was no signal, it affected the delicate SAI system. I have never been so excited to hear the noisy SAI pump roar to life again!
