Default Temp

I saw that, but mine has no correlation to temp. Might be at 60s or 50? Neither very cold.

@redrover75 Interesting, how was your coolant temp?

The code is relative to time to reach operating temp or close to it. If your driving habits result in long warmups it could have an impact on the frequency of the codes.

I never checked the temp, other than the gauge was midway. Which is not particularly helpful. I will get a number next time it happens. I dont think the driving habit is the case, it is pretty much exactly the same drive every day. Which is why I wonder if I have a bad sensor.

It was 176 when I saw the code. It seems that should not cause a low temp. Maybe try a new coolant temp sensor is in order.

Just ordered one. I'm on my 3rd D2 and decided to finally pull the trigger. My first D2 with a good legit 180* LR stat, *always* ran at 197*f with no issues. Second one got hot enough to split the plastic expansion tank, but never blew a HG amazingly. This third one, sat for 14 years. That's so crazy haha. Got it running great, and just want to make sure it stays on the road for a while, considering I am seeing temp swings as high as 216*f and ad low as 204*f here in central California.

I noticed the port side up is out of stock, anyone know when it will come back in stock? With CA's Central Valley reaching 100F I'm seeing 220-225 going 55mph down hwy 99, which is wayyy to hot for me. Stupid question, but are you able to flip the port down version to and upward port or modify it to fit an aftermarket temperature sensor?

Dude, I'm just up in Sonora! What part of the valley are you in? I grew up in Oakdale, lived in Modesto and Manteca. I was hitting 215*f or so, now cruising at 183*, and climbs to maybe 195* on the long hill climbs here in the mountains. But when it hits 195*, that's when it's 105* outside, and my AC is going full blast. The inline mod is probably the single best 100 bucks I've spend on a Disco.

I'm in Merced! I got to college in the area. I often go to Pinecrest through Sonora! I have to run the heat going up or down 99 to help cool it off . So now I only drive at night or borrow a friends car.

that's rough.... just run the inline thermostat without an external sensor? Can get a scan Guage or an ultra Guage and plug it in to monitor temps.
