Default PLESAE HELP 2000 Land Rover Discovery ENGINE DIED

Hello All,
If anyone knows what will cause a sudden engine death on a 2000 Discovery .
It's a loved vehicle, no particular problems other than brakes and tires, 52000 miles
Drove fine to work, no lights, no warnings, after afew hours parked in the sun, the engine cranks, but no start. The electric was checked- fine and all fuses-fine, the diagnostic comes back with "Ignition Failing",
The spark is there, fuel comes in fine, the Fuel sensor is fine.
The mechanic can not find the problem !
PLEASE HELP

How does the mechanic know for sure its getting fuel. By the sounds of it if in fact it is getting a spark fuel pump or some related device is not working. Did he verify fuel pressure with a fuel gauge?

yeah, sounds more like a fuel pump issue to me. Coil packs usually don't just up and die, although it is not impossible. Hold out though, I am sure someone else has had the same problem..

Good Luck!

Do the easiest first. Make sure your fuel cutoff switch is ok. Check for plugs and see if there is spark (careful here). Check if you have fuel pressure (if you can access the fuel rail). If these are fine, come back. You'll have to check your crank shaft sensor and the camshaft sensor. There's lots of help in this website. Unlikely for both coil packs to go.
