Pix of the noodle inspired baffle separator - Oil Separator - Valve Cover (LLJ000010 Same Fit As Genuine Part # LLJ000010) - Land Rover miscellaneous from Atlantic British - you'll see why it can be installed backwards....

Interesting, from the picture I see what you are supposed to grab but, mine is completely flat on top and flush with metal tube. Absolutely nothing to grab I even bent over a pick and hooked it down in the hole in the center of the baffle and yanked untill the handle pulled off the pick. Also, the only opening in mine is a small hole in the center not like in the picture shown with the half circle shape. This is on the passenger side valve cover right?

We were able to pull the metal sleeve out of the valve cover and work on pulling out the separator.
The after cleaning the metal sleeve the new separator did not want to go in an we needed a little force to put in the new separator. We installed the nipple end of the separator just above the rim of the sleeve to aid in changing.
Sleeve was open on one end with a small hole on the other end (the hole is down stream toward the intake plenum).
