So while I've been battling a misfire after my HG job, I've also come upon the problem of not wanting to start. It sounds like its trying to turn-over but won't catch. Some of the times I just let it set and come back to it in the afternoon and it will start up.

Someone mentioned the CPS. I recently replaced it less than a year ago, and unless some cleaning/degreaser ruined a new sensor I don't know if that is the issue or not? Could the failed starts be related to the misfires I've been experiencing (timing chain/oil pump?) or is the CPS still a strong possibility?

 

Yep, sure enough. 4 hours later on my way out the door I decide to give it one more go and it starts right up.

 

One thing that can cause this is a bad coolant temp sensor. I would check that to make sure the engine temp is correct. If it's reading too low of a temp, the computer will flood the engine with fuel.
