The one thing that sucks about this forum, like all others, is when people have to keep pointing the finger back and forth at one another... let it go!

I do not doubt Tom Woods personally nor his reputation. But I question the bad attitude of someone who so strongly believes in TW products.......
Mongo is beginning to misrepresent Tom Woods with his bad attitude, and it turns me away from even considering Tom Woods products.

OK, so if I read all this correctly,
The shafts for the Disco 2 come from a place in Chicago, and are built the same way ProshaftLLC would build them if they were building these small shafts in quantity.
Let us assume for discussion that the Chicago area source is the factory.
The first rule of business is make enough money to stay in business. The distributor ProshaftLLC is expected to make a profit. It is what makes the economy run.
Unless the factory gives exclusive territory style contracts, I suspect that the factory will soon seek out large volume retailers, such as AB and Rovers not South, and go direct with them. That will leave the individual sales market for the distributor ProshaftLLC. And that is not a bad market, there are frequently 300+ persons viewing the D2 forum on this site. Every D2 owner who has not upgraded the prop shaft is a potential customer. Of course one way to keep the factory from going direct is offer drop shipping for the mass marketers, and keep a modest qunatity on hand.
Participating on this site brings the signature line, and that is a small "free" billboard, which runs under the radar of the ad department of the site owner. It is a win-win situation when a person with expertise repsonds to posts, and threads have a very long life and plenty of views.
As an example, my signature contains reference posts for ECU manuals. About 8,000 views for the D2 one. Me post whinning because Nissens Radiator has a swanky web site, great reputation, and slaps their box on a lesser quality made by someone else radiator (for Mercedes W124), about 70 views. You'll get more flies with honey.
Some one that makes factual posts, incudes pix for us that are visual vs. verbal, is great. Someone who could speak to the fellows that modify their suspension as to limits of the stock shafts and how to measure for a custom one would be helpful.
Business owners have to be selective about their associates, either employees or consultants, etc. Out on the trail near me people have found that once a skunk gets in the truck with you, it can take awhile to get all the skunk smell off of you.

Justin, way to stay professional. It says a lot about your character. Regardless if you agree with someone or not I feel its of huge importance for business owners to be respectful and remain professional. This was something that SILVER was not able to do, unfortunately. I wish you luck in your business.
TIRARII, give it a rest man. If Mongo is "misrepresenting Tom Woods" then you're doing the exact same thing with Justin/ProShaft. Kettle, meet pot. Your logic is foolish and everybody is entitled to their opinion. You don't have to agree with it but you do have to acknowledge they're allowed to have it. Sometimes its best to agree to disagree.

Because Land Rovers are the only vehicles that use drive shafts, obviously.
That says a lot. You're the kind of drive that be better off with sealed u-joints than greaseable ones. They'll last longer.
If you're not going to religiously grease them every oil change sealed is better.

You guy's are incredible...This is like buying 10 Oil filters from Britparts, painting them blue, putting them in a different box, claim it as a product you build, and then sell them at a premium price.
Savannah,
I'm always more than happy to provide custom length drive shafts to anyone with a modified suspension. I'd also like to provide a "how-to" in regards to measuring for custom shafts. Also, does anyone have any tomato juice to help me get rid of this skunk smell? Hehe. Thanks again for the advice.
Best,
Justin
