Have you tried Rockauto?
Or AutoZone?
Buy the hoses one week at a time, then once you have ll of them replace them.

Just changed all of my hoses and went to a 88c stat. Was gonna go with a 82c (180deg stat , until I saw the price , are these really $100 ?? ) . Anyway, my hoses cost $52.00 for bottom ( tree ) hose. $27.00 for top hose and $1.59 a foot for the smaller top hoses. In all under $100 at Napa.

Any one have the part number for the brass cap relief valve with the Limey threading to match the radiator ? i know I can do an Ace hardware juryrig but heard it will mash my rad threads. Have a new plastic cap on , but dont trust it since my last one blew to high heaven.

I'm confused - you have a D1 listed in your signature, which uses a $10 regular stat, I run a 180 and am glad of it. A D2 uses the $100 soft spring remote stat, and you are posted in D2. Already sent reply for brass rad plug to other post you made.

Whats the story with all this 180 thermostat stuff..??? I still don't get it... You are talking about inside temp not compartment temp? Correct... I know that the engine was designed to run at 200-220 which would also be at optimum operating temp.. If you run cooler your have pre ignition and crap MPG.. So what's the point. Why not ventilate the engine compartment, cool the intake and make sure "YOUR COOLING SYSTEM IS IN TOP ORDER".... I Live in South Florida and it's ***** hot here so I know heat... They run lots of LR"s in Saudi , Dubai and Africa and idle for hours in unbearable heat and they don't do any of this so what's the deal?

Running a soft spring 180 thermostat in my 04 drop my coolant temps to 187-192. Close loop no problem, fuel trim perfect. Aux fan stays off now, only on with a/c and that is a large amp draw. Save fuel. The spring is soft enough to let some coolant into the radiator at idle. I would think that would take some pressure off the heater core. Less heat, less engine expansion, less head gasket failure, lower coolant system pressure. Maybe even less oil leaks from heat expansion.
