Ready to buy MAF

I did..0173, 0174, and 0733 all MAF codes. The one I took off mine and put on my wife's 01 came off mine with 119,00 and it is still in her car and no codes. I put her's on mine (the one showing codes) to test it and got the codes after one drive cycle. I cleaned it with MAF cleaner..let it dry and put it back on and worked good for several days. Maybe 200 miles of driving then I got the codes back. So I went to replace it and was talked into a aftermarket one cause it was cheaper. It gave codes after one drive cycle but the vehicle seemed to be running great. Took it back and payed the difference and bought the correct Bosch MAF and have not had a code since. That's the story.

Yes, don't be cheap on a new MAF sensor. Make sure to get the Bosch sensor. I got a cheaper aftermarket sensor (the box said Lucas on it) from a reputable parts dealer when my sensor went bad and it didn't work. I ended up replacing it twice with no success. I finally got a Bosch from AB (I tried their aftermarket sensor too with no success) and my codes went away. Talk about frustrating, it was driving me nuts.
