Hi Guys, a shop replaced my pads (the rotors only have 20k on them) and it looks like I’m not making contact with the inner part of the rotor. This is happening on both sides. Any ideas?
Something has the pads tilted in the rotors, given the amount of rust I see in the photo I could see things not moving smoothly. Needs to be disassembled again, thoroughly cleaned, and refit.
If you're truly concerned, and you should be, do a complete brake job. Meaning; calipers, rotors, pads, brake lines, fluid, bleed. If any of that is original, it should all be replaced by now. -For your safety and others around you. Last place to half-*** is brakes and yours look pretty bad. Your ABS and traction control won't work right unless ALL components are working.
These responses are very helpful thank you. I’ll replace calipers...maybe go refurbished? https://www.partsgeek.com/34v6rrd-la...+Brake+Caliper I’m pissed that the ‘best disco mechanic in NY’ put the new pads on and didn’t say a word about the calipers..
