Default Remanufactured engine

2003 Disco 2 had temperature problems at 185k, intermittent HG leak.

Crated the engine, sent to qande.com, they stripped it, re-bored, top hat liners, new rings, valves, ports, oil pump, everything to better than OEM tolerances, recoated, total was $6500 including shipping two ways from the Bay Area. That was about 3 years and 8k miles ago and we're still going swimmingly. They did a fantastic job and I am expecting 100k miles out of it. Engine bay still looks impressively spotless.

If I had the choice in front of me, would probably swap an LS3 5.3 into it instead. The alternativeconversion.com kits are more mature now, and at the end of the day I just don't have the pickup or mileage I'd like, or that I think the truck deserves. That said, if you can get your block to them and you want to keep it in the family, qande.com does impeccable work and they know exactly what they're doing, hundreds of engines worked by now. It's $1500 plus the labor, and mine had a lot more done than many need.

I have the Atlantic British Rebuilt long block with tophatted liners. Aside from getting totally screwed by the installer, it has been rather trouble free.
