I have taken mine off a number of times without removing anything else.A friend who is an indie mech let me put my D2 up on his lift. I removed the screws holding it in place, pulled it back towards the rear of the car and turned it sideways almost 90 degrees it would take a little work but I could get it out and back in. The fact i had on a lift where I could maneuver it I am sure was a big factor.
