I'm down to the last error light on my D2, but this week I noticed that the P0440 is proceeded by the engine RPMs dropping and a little stutter, then it throws a SES. I've been clearing it shortly after it happens since I got my Hawkeye Total (Thanks Abran!!!) So now I feel like I'm more aware of the timing of these things. Additionally it seems to happen after I've been driving normally and come to a stop, not when I'm moving.

 

Sounds more like an idle air control valve issue to me. Try cleaning it.
