Sealant for wheel hubs
Don't want to start an argument here, but I have to pretty strongly disagree. There is virtually no risk to reusing the axle nut. The chance of it backing off is, and I'm not exaggerating, zero. So long as some part of it is peened back over that is, or if it is torqued back down good. Optimally both should be true and you"ve got double redundancy. Like I said, I've reused a ton of axle nuts with no issue. Probably multiple dozens at this point on various makes if vehicle.

My reasoning is basically that the nut’s price is so immaterial, like, why not.
But hey, no judgement here whichever direction someone goes with their disco ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Haha, you won’t ever get a combative argument on here from me. I love contributing and participating, but truly don’t care enough to spill any divisiveness over things like this. Two opinions are better than one!

And I reread my post, I hope it did not come off combative. Wasn't meant as such.
I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from replacing the nut if it makes them more comfortable. I agree the four or five dollars is immaterial to most. However there are some that it is not, and I don't want folks thinking it's a necessity.
Thanks Brandon!
