Regarding left/right side rearview mirrors, 2004 Discovery, when mirror alone is broken, is that mirror alone available from dealer, or must one buy whole housing and internal working mechanism with mirror, to replace only the mirror in vehicle?

 

I can't answer that question, because I just don't know. But if I were you I'd go salvage yard. Bunch of guys on the forum who part out LR's can probably help you out. Which side you break? I might be headed to the U-pull in Denver in the next couple of days, if I see one I'll snag it.

The mirror is available by itself, but as already mentioned, if you can find a used mirror assembly and if you can remove the mirror with out breaking it, you could install it in your current mirror assembly.

 

When you considering the overall cost of a new "unit" w/ shipping costs you may actually get a better deal at the salvage yards.
