Thanks Alex, this wiper mod made it so easy to go back to D2 arms. My only change was using socket cap screws and pressing out those metal tabs on the D2 arms with my socket (rather than pliers). I'm using Michelin High Performance All Season Wiper Blades from Walmart and they worked great in winter driving conditions.

Primary number will be the metric measurement for an 18" rim unless only one metric size is listed. First number inside parentheses is the imperial measurement, overall. Second inside the parentheses is the metric measurement for a 16" rim. Third number inside the parentheses is the measurement between opposite corners of the tire from a top-down view. This is the biggest measurement that matters because it takes tire width into account. If you know this measurement for your vehicle (at a given rim offset) then you can almost guarantee you're maximizing the use of your wheel well.
All fitment recommendations assume stock or near stock wheel offset.

235/75r18 (31.8 X 9.3, 235/85r16, 33.13 corner to corner) - No lift possible with no or minor rubbing. Safe choice with no lift if you do not mind chance of very minor rubbing, 2" lift recommended to guarantee no rubbing. Spare carrier flip necessary.
265/65r18s (31.6 x 10.4, 265/75r16, 33.27 corner to corner) - I have run these with no lift and no rubbing. Some report minor rubbing. Safe choice with no lift if you do not mind chance of very minor rubbing, 2" lift recommended to guarantee no rubbing. Spare carrier flip necessary.
255/65r18 (31.1 x 10, 255/75r18, 32.67 corner to corner) - Almost definitely no rubbing at stock height except possibly in extreme outlier cases. Spare carrier flip may be necessary, vehicle dependent.

If you'd like to input your own tire sizes and do the calculations, use this tire size calculator and this triangle calculator. Make sure triangle angle is set to 90 degrees, input imperial width and height to get corner to corner measurement as the "third side" of the triangle.

I haven't been online in a while, so apologies on the delayed answer! This was a long time ago, but all that was is an old broken air cleaner lid. I cut it roughly in half. Maybe 1/3 cut off of it, I don't recall exactly - it was a decade ago now. A far as attachment - I think that I just stuck a screw in either side thru the plastic intake, and it was sealed with some black silicon around the bottom. No filter.

That would certainly keep the squirrels out. Last winter twice I had to clean the acorns out of the blow motor. The squirrel cage. I ended up putting chicken wire over the intake, seems to have fixed it.
