Smog time - Got check lights need sorting out
Hello all,
It's that time of the year again. I got the below check codes. I replaced all the intake gaskets and the injector o-rings a couple years ago. Stayed CL free for a year, but got these codes last year. I need to sort this out before getting it smogged. Any thoughts? Vac leak somewhere?
P0733 - gear 3 incorrect ratio
P0174 - Bank 2 lean
P0171 - Bank 1 lean

I'm guessing mass air flow sensor with that incorrect gear ratio coupled with lean codes.
get brake cleaner and spray all along intake and vacuum lines post MAF, if the engine idle changes it might be a leak and not MAF.

Thanks Abran. I am also leaning towards the MAF as well. Not sure if I replaced it when I bought the car 3 years ago. Got a OEM Bosch on order with NAPA. If that doesn't solve it, then I'll move to checking for leaks. Never tried the propane gas trick but I'll give that a go.
Yes, I know you didn't suggest it. I just heard using propane gas works as well.
Glad that fixed you up, but if you're waiting to fix issues because of SMOG and not because your truck is having an issue it's not going to live long or be reliable for you. Especially with an issue like running lean. That's terrible for your engine.
