Strange stalling issue
It is on my 2004 D2 with 160,xxx miles. Been running great for the last year or so after head job (knocking on wood). A couple day ago we parked atr a shop and the truck would not start after we got back in, about 15 minutes later. After several long cranking attempts it did start and ran fine until a few days later. Accelerating up a hill she died and again took several attemots of prolonged cranking to get started.
Any ideas or similar experience. Nothing on the UlraGauge- no lights, codes or any other issues. Feels to me like a fuel delivery problem. Just throwing it out there to see if I can do anything to keep it from happening again. About a half tank of fuel from the same place I always get it. Think it would help to get some system cleaner? The injectors were cleaned and services with the head gasket work about 5,000 miles ago if it matters. Newer plugs and cables as well.
Any ideas? Seems harf to troubleshoot with so little to go on.

I think your on the right track with fuel, but the crank sensor likes to act up when warm. To eliminate it when it dies jump the fuel pump on the under hood relay. And listen for it to run, if it runs and still doesn't start I'd lean towards the crank sensor.
Thanks everyone. I read a post that suggested that if, while cranking, the CEL remains on that it is most likely the C{S. This is what happens to when I try and start. I have a CPS on order and will see it that is the case.
Interesting twist today. Stopped at a traffic light and the engine reved about to about 2000 RPMs for a second and then idled back down. My UltraGauge stopped working at the same time. Had to umplud and plug it back in to get it restarted.
Well, got the CPS in today. Waht a pain in the butt! Took several hours and all I can say is the Land Rover engineers suck!
Over the years I have had, and still have, many vehicles from old Cadillacs to newer Cadilacs, Austin Healeys, MGs, Triumphs, Toyotas, Mazdas, and Fords. The Land Rover is by far the worst engineered vehicle I've ever owner. By far. What is wrong with these people?
I still love the truck, else I would have ditched it long ago, but the thing is a pain in the *** to work on, period.
