From Rave:

The fuel pump is a 'self priming' wet type pump which is immersed in fuel in the tank. The fuel pump operates at all times when the ignition switch is in position II. If the engine is not started, the ECU will 'time-out' after 2 seconds and de-energise the fuel pump relay to protect the pump. The pump receives a feed from the battery via fuse 10 in the engine compartment fusebox and the fuel pump relay. The relay is energised by the ECM when the ignition switch is moved to position II.
Beyond that it is just good old electrical gremlin testing.

Oh I was a gremlin indeed but turned to be a sad gremlin with my findings.

Here is the link to the forum I followed up on with someone having the same problem, I did a lot of testing and posted a detail description of everything I found/ did.

Long story short, my ECM is not sending a signal to energize the system to power the pump for the 2 seconds of priming while in 2nd key position and only just for that 2 seconds. While cranking the car and while it’s running I’m getting sufficient power to the fuel pump plug.

Everything of the fuel system circuit is connected and with a good connection leading up to the ECM. Everything is working perfectly fine except the 2 seconds of priming.

My potential fix is to hardwire in a toggle switch to prime the pump for the 2 seconds before I crank it.
If anyone has anything on this I’m all ears.
