Default Sunroof's acting erratic

Couple of weeks ago I hopped in the rover on a hot day and the front sunroof wouldn't open until I clicked the button a few times, now it's been doing this off and on, both closing and opening.

Currently I'm on a camping trip and the front sunroof will not open all the way and the rear has started to not work occasionally.

Is this a motor issue? On both units?

Sounds like a connection/switch issue.

Precisely. But somehow the problem could be within the wires that goes to the motor. So, you could switch the power switches from the front to back temporarily and check if the other line is working or powers the motor / sunroof thats at fault. I have my headliner down and can check where the wire runs if you need.

With one of my windows, I could hear the selenoids clicking but window would not move. I replaced the switch and was good to go.

You're joking. Do you remember your symptoms before the window stopped working? The sun roofs are behaving exactly like my passenger window did before it quit.

Now both of them will only move after bitting the buttons several times and even then it's a toss up on whether or not they will open all the way, or close.

It sounds very much like they are getting hung up mechanically, but I find it very odd that they would both show symptoms at the exact same time

I think I may have resolved the issue by lubricating the mechanisms, but I'm still not sure that they are opening entirely. Would someone mind taking a pic of theirs open? I'd like to see how much of the opening is exposed from inside the cab. Thanks

The action you speak about is what happened with my drivers side window. Would work, then no, then I could hear solenoid, but no movement.
You say they move after hitting buttons several times. just like my driver side window. New switch and fixed. Actually it was a used switch from Paul Grant. paulgrant@mac.com
Ping Paul. Bet he has one and can opine or your issue.
