Sorry, Its Charlie that has it, not Alex...

Yes, if you plug up the holes you can run non SAI. If thats your route, you could take the screw in nipple connector at the head and plug weld the opening. The have a tapered end so it might be hard to find a suitable plug.

It would be better for you to use your non SAI heads on the build, but it might be too late for that. There is no difference in 4.0 and 4.6 heads.

Actually that job suiting my welding skill level perfectly.. Normally I first MAKE a hole by holding it in one spot too long, then I have to fill it. This was a cake walk.

But no, I never did more than change a belt and some oil before two years ago when I took a month to swap my engine, and I have no mechanical background at all. If it wasn't for the forums I would be ensconced in a new car every couple of years... and broke like everyone else.
