Default Ticking sound from upper end Disco II

I have a 2000 LR Disco II and I need some help and advice. I have read and tried every thread I could find and still have the annoying ticking sound.
It all started 14 mos. ago after my garage replaced the head gaskets(they wouldn't tighten further). I've religiously changed oil every 3000 since I've owned at 95K now have 156K. Have done ATF flush, miracle oil, high viscosity, low viscosity, and seafoam. Got 700 miles no ticking after ATF flush but returned. I've have installed new lifters, rods and rockers; no change!

I'm seriously considering either total rebuild of motor or buying a rebuilt.
I want to do some mods like lift and front bumper and AT tires, I use it for hunting in FL in wet sandy terrain.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have an SAI system fitted - there have been posts about that being tick related. Also, have you done an oil pump mechanical gauge test? Cracked oil pump can tick and do a lot of other evil things.

Also see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...estions-46975/ for a low restriction filter you can try.

Your liners could also be moving. Could be anything.

My 03 used to tick until one day I changed the oil with Rotella T 15w40 because that was all I had in the shop. So now, 10k miles later, still no tick.

Seems all Rover engine can tick sometime, usually all valve train related and not that hard to get rid of. Changing oil is not the fix, got to the LRO and read my sticky on valve train noise posted in the D2 section.
If you still have questions, send me your number and I'll call you.
