Mobil 1 is not a full synthetic oil either, it is a dino base stock with synthetic additives, same with the other "full" synthetics that you can buy anywhere.
The true full synthetics are Royal Purple and Amsoil.
So switching it out to the Royal Purple 10w40 would be suggested? Also what type of oil filter is recommended? I read somewhere about the K&N filter.

If you can afford the Royal Purple go for it, I use Shell Rotella, 15w-40 for summer and 5w-40 for the winter here in MI.
I use NAPA and Purolator oil filters, no way in hell am I spending $15 on a piece of crap K&N oil filter.

Study this.

Use whatever you want, but I use Shell Rotella and NAPA oil filters and change my oil every 5,000 miles.

The hinges on the air cleaner box are a very common thing to break on the DII, so common you have a very hard time finding a used air cleaner box.
