Wanted to bump this and give a shout out to Tony Luna. It's been invaluable to have a ton of tips and tricks documented in this forum! Also, I have about 7' of the original gasket material Tony used (not the better one, that one was a $100 minimum order) if anyone in the Salt Lake area wants it for free.
What was the better $100 min order seal?

The one you ended up using. Looks like Walt found it for cheaper, I was only seeing it for $100 on Amazon so I bought the stuff you used for your second iteration (kind of a bulb shape instead of a blade).
