I did my 2 inch lift this weekend OME HD springs on front and OME MD in rear, terrafirma shocks in front. Good wrenches, two jack stands, two floor jacks, one bottle jack. It was easier than replacing my front brakes that I thought were welded on there!! No idea when the last owner changed them. The suspension is firm but after 1 ton diesels it's still smooth to me! But yeah you really don't need much. A afternoon and a nice slab to work on

Well this is a bit late as it was on Saturday. I attended the Houston Land Rover Club's Monster Garage, a semi annual club event for members who want to work on their rigs and need a third hand or some free advice on repairs and modifications. We had about 8 members show up and had 2 DIIs, a RR Sport, 3 D-90s, an LR3 and a RR Classic. Repairs ranged from some welding on a rock slider, mounting a gas tank skid plate and fixing some wiring issues on one of the D-90s. Fun day with fellow LR owners.
If you are a greater Houston LR owner and not in the club, pm me and I will give you more information.

It isn't as hard as it seems. Took me and a friend about 5 hrs to do all 4 wheels and we had no idea what we were doing. Plus, we did a few other things while we had the chance to work on it. So, it may have only taken us about 4 hrs to do the lift kit. That video is a good tool to go by.

Replaced front and rear diff oil, engine oil, filter, and topped off the PAS fluid.
Also, replaced the passenger side engine mount, too easy. Unfortunately I looked over at the driver side, I do NOT want to change that mount, luckily I think it's fine for now!!
Unfortunately I didn't get to the rock lights yet, but whatever.
Also, my e-brake light is stuck on now.... not sure why...

I swapped out 2 of my torn rubber door seals for used ones I found on Ebay that were almost like new and a fraction of the price of new ones. The Discovery is the only car I have ever owned where the rubber seal is on the door frame and threshold area instead of just on the door and the bottom threshold section tends to get torn from stepping in and out of the vehicle. I think I paid around $40 each with shipping.
Also dropped off my spare at the tires shop to have a new tire put on that is the same as what I have on the other 4 wheels. The old tire on there was a Michelin street tire that a previous owner must have been running and was really getting cracks everywhere in the sidewall; I didn't feel it would make it for long if I had to use it on the ground. Heading to SCARR next month here in Texas so I want to have a good spare just in case.
